The Elan Mom Program is currently in a test/research phase in Tucson, Arizona. Sign up here to be kept in the loop for the launching of the program in 2015.
In transitioning from Bryn Jones the Professional to Bryn Jones the Mom, I struggled with trying to live my values while contained in the box of others' expectations. Sound at all familiar? A trying experience, it ultimately proved to be the best thing that could have happened as I embraced the opportunity to design the life I wanted for myself, my work, and my family. What I didn't have (and couldn't find) was support and guidance in how to make that reality. Now, I offer my own learnings in a program like no other to help you figure out what is best for YOU and how to start making it your reality.
I'm happy to have the help of my friend and colleague, Clarity White, who is blazing her own path as a professional working mom. Our kids first brought us together, and it was the discovery of our shared passion for helping working moms realize their dreams, however unique they may be, that has led to the creation of the Elan Mom Program.
Let’s face it. Becoming a mom is more challenging than any of us prepared for. Add to the mix our modern-day desires to maintain our professional identity as well as excel in our role as mommy, partner, and individual. This puts an unprecedented amount of strain on us. That’s where Elan Mom comes in.
Clarity and I are more than excited! To create great possibility for an ongoing Elan Mom program, we've pulled together a team of inspiring and energizing women (see everyone's bios below), all of whom are living examples of following their own paths of authenticity to realize their dreams. And we're looking for up to 12 moms who can help us figure out the best way to offer the most valuable program for Tucson moms. Help us and get some amazing help for yourself!
So how is this test/research phase working?
A group of 8 women are meeting in person for five hours once a month from September to November. Each session is designed as a mini-retreat, offering an experience for the mind, body, and soul, getting successively deeper into the differences women are trying to make in their lives. And they are experiencing ways to relax, express themselves in creative ways, move, and nourish themselves. Outside of the session, they are puting what they are learning into action in some way and then sharing what they're learning from their actions with the group. Throughout the program and at the end of it, these women are evaluating what worked well and what didn’t, and exploring with us how a program might take shape in such a way that you or moms you know would want to participate.
